A slew of reports appeared on Sunday and Monday claiming that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu secretly flew to Abu Dhabi yesterday to meet with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Sunday. Reuters claimed the visit was confirmed by an unnamed senior Israeli official, but the prime minister’s office has said nothing on the record.

The Middle East Spectator cited Israel’s Channel 13 reporting that the meeting lasted more than 6 hours and was primarily focused on Iran.

Reuters noted that Netanyahu’ visit came after the Israeli daily Haaretz this month reported that bin Zayed had warned Netanyahu a week and a half before October 7, 2023 that Hamas was planning a major operation against Israel. The warning was not passed to Israeli intelligence agencies or the military, Haaretz reported.
