Following arson attacks at a substation in Brandenburg, and another one in North Rhine Westphalia on Tuesday, a third one, at a construction site in Munich, occurred on Wednesday. The two earlier incidents on Tuesday involved the use of homemade rockets, filled with explosives, damaging cables, with more unfired rockets detected by an intense police search at both sites. The incident in Munich occurred at a road construction site near a technology firm said to be connected to the military. In none of the three cases was a note taking responsibility for the attacks found. Unlike the drone incidents in August, at the airport in Leipzig, Russia has not—not yet, at least—been blamed for these new incidents. Prominently reported by the mainstream media, all incidents work as part of a “strategy of tension.”
