The spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces (the Houthis), Brigadier General Yahya Saree, confirmed an attack this morning by the YAF on a Saudi military base in the Sharurah area of Saudi Arabia, targeting weapons depots and command and control centers, reported Saba News. In a statement, Saree indicated that the operation was in response to continued aggression by the Saudis against the country. He noted that the operation targeted the weapons depots and command and control centers—which manage the aggression against the nation and its people—at the Sharurah military base. He confirmed that the operation was executed using a large salvo of ballistic missiles and drones, achieving precise and direct hits.

Sharurah is close to the border with Yemen, roughly 375 km northeast of Sana’a. Saree’s statement came about 12 hours after he had warned that a wave of Saudi air strikes over the previous 48 hours “will not pass without response and punishment.”

Meanwhile, Moscow expressed concern that the situation in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait could escalate out of control. “The whole world is watching,” Peskov told reporters in New Delhi yesterday. “Of course, we are concerned, because the situation continues to escalate.”

“All this may lead to a mega-escalation. It appears that the situation is far from being under control,” he added.
