Security incidents occurred yesterday only hours apart overnight Saturday into Sunday at RAF Fairford in southern England, which is hosting a fleet of US B-1 and B-52 bombers, and at Macdill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida where US Central Command is headquartered. One of the elements that the two incidents have in common is that authorities in both locations are refusing to say much about what happened.

In the Fairford incident, London’s Metropolitan Police took five men into custody after a local resident reported three suspicious looking vans in an area adjacent to the base but gave no details about those arrested, reported AP. Sky News released video showing the three vans being searched with a bomb-tracking robot. Local authorities evacuated about 85 people from the local neighborhood. UK Prime Minisster Andy Burnham urged people “not to speculate while the authorities establish the full facts.”

On Sunday morning, Trump heaped praise on those involved with the arrests. “It was an amazing job. We had them under investigation. They were looking to do big damage to our fort. And working with the British worked out great,” he told reporters in Chicago. “We had them under view for a long time and we got them.”
