In a report posted on Thursday, Al Mayadeen cited an Israeli report from i24News television channel, to the effect that the IDF’s Southern Command is preparing for a possible response from the Palestinian Resistance, following a recent string of Israeli assassinations of Hamas commanders in Gaza. The IDF has killed two brigade commanders, a battalion commander, and a number of company commanders in its latest assassination campaign in Gaza.

Al Mayadeen also notes that Israeli occupation forces have committed 4,481 violations of the ceasefire in Gaza since the US-brokered so-called peace agreement took effect on October 11, 2025. The count, published September 14, includes 1,787 live-fire attacks, 1,967 airstrikes and shelling incidents, 184 military incursions, 453 home demolitions, and 90 detention operations, amounting to roughly 14 violations a day since the ceasefire began.

The violations have killed 1,381 Palestinians, including at least 278 children, and wounded 4,757 others, with 186 Palestinians detained.

Separately, Al Mayadeen reported that the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza warned Wednesday that the Strip’s healthcare system is being pushed toward a systematic collapse, as hospitals face severe shortages of fuel, medical supplies and spare parts amid the ongoing blockade. Speaking at a press conference, Zahir al-Wahidi, director of the Health Information Center, said healthcare facilities had been reduced to isolated structures struggling to remain operational, as restrictions continue to prevent the entry of essential supplies.
