Create the Miracle of a New World System

by Megan Dobrodt (EIRNS) — Oct. 17, 2026

In 1936, Albert Einstein wrote that “the eternal mystery of the world is its comprehensibility.” The great miracle is that our thoughts, concepts generated within the sovereign confines of our mental processes, can compass and exert control over processes in the physical universe. The universe, in turn, rewards us by allowing us to support more people at an increasing standard of living, living longer and potentially happier lives.

This miraculous correspondence between the physical world and our thoughts, a power unique to the human species, must now be called to the fore. The collapse of the unlawful Western system of geopolitics has opened the possibility for a new paradigm of relations among nations, one in correspondence with natural law, to be built in its stead, but it is only that—an opening, and one which must be acted on quickly. The danger hanging over all our heads is what Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche warned about in the Oct. 16 meeting of the International Peace Coalition: “The effort by some forces [for] the dominance of the West clearly is not going to work ever again, but it can lead to World War III if not changed… The need to put a new security and development architecture on that table is really the only thing which will…remedy the situation.”

Important moves in that direction took place over the last few days, as have efforts to disrupt them and hold onto Western hegemony at all costs.

First, on Friday, Pope Leo XIV and Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone, a discussion preceded and prepared by visits to Moscow of two high-level Vatican envoys over the past months. The conversation focused on humanitarian concerns in the city of Oleshky (Alyoshki) in the Kherson region, and readouts from both sides emphasized the willingness to cooperate on this front. Both also expressed their interest in maintaining dialogue between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Catholic Church, a relationship that was severely damaged by Pope Leo’s predecessor. The phone call represents a major step forward, possibly preliminary to the Vatican playing a more direct role in resolving the conflict.

As that phone call was happening, President Trump issued an executive order suspending sanctions against Russia and Russian goods contained in the recently signed Lindsey Graham Act. Head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev called the decision an “important and truly historic moment,” pointing beyond the immediate diesel deal to broader economic initiatives. “Economic cooperation between Russia and the United States serves the interests of both nations,” Dmitriev emphasized, “contributes to global economic stability, and lays the foundation for building trust and achieving lasting peace.” The diesel deal, he said, shows that “the ice has, in fact, begun to break.”

Not everyone was so happy, however. Acting Ukrainian President Zelensky, predictably, denounced the measure, and various emotionally underdeveloped members of Congress joined him, citing their undying support for a war down to the last Ukrainian. Also unsurprising was the presence of UK Defense Minister Wes Streeting in Washington on Thursday, on tour to try to pull the US back into line. Supporting Ukraine against Russia, he dissembled, is part of upholding the special principles shared by the US and the UK [sic]—"once we’d gotten over that messy divorce 250 years ago.… Standing with Ukraine is not a choice between our values and our self-interest. It is a recognition that, ultimately, they are inseparable.”

Where this will go is still undetermined. Though the Trump administration is currently pushing back against the anti-Russia warmongers, anything could tip things in the other direction—perhaps a false-flag event in Europe—and the extremely unstable situation in Southwest Asia is ripe to blow up from a regional conflict into a much larger and possibly nuclear war.

A decision must be made by people in, especially, nations of the West, that not only do they reject the failed thinking of “might makes right” geopolitics—as many hundreds of thousands of demonstrators in France, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Argentina and beyond have recently made clear—but that they demand a new system, based on our best understanding of the unique creative potential of humankind, to serve the mission of our miraculous species in this universe.

Helga-Zepp LaRouche has issued a call for the formation of a new international security and development architecture. In it, she writes, “The basic assumption for the new paradigm is, that man is fundamentally good and capable to infinitely perfect the creativity of his mind and the beauty of his soul, and being the most advanced geological force in the universe, which proves that the lawfulness of the mind and that of the physical universe are in correspondence and cohesion, and that all evil is the result of a lack of development, and therefore can be overcome.

“A new world economic order is emerging, involving the vast majority of the countries of the Global South. The European nations and the U.S. must not fight this effort, but by joining hands with the developing countries, cooperate to shape the next epoch of the development of the human species to become a renaissance of the highest and most noble expressions of creativity!”

That is your mission. “Get mobilized,” Zepp-LaRouche said on Friday. “Do not sit idly at home…because in a historic moment like this, it is the courage of individuals which can make the difference.”
