According to a report posted by the Financial Times yesterday, the British government of Andy Burnham has decided not to join the so-called Defence, Security and Resilience Bank, the brainchild of Canada’s Mark Carney. The Brits instead prefer their own plan, the Multilateral Defence Mechanism, which is championed by Chancellor of the Exchequer John Healy, who took over the job when Burnham became prime minister with the specific mission of providing more money for defense spending. The UK has committed an initial £400mn to the MDM, FT reports. The Netherlands, Poland and Finland have also signed up to the initiative.
British officials insisted the “historic relationship” with Canada remained strong and the decision not to press ahead with a merger of the two initiatives was a mutual one, FT reported further. London and Ottawa could not agree on the way a merger of the two initiatives would work, UK officials briefed on the talks said. Britain also resisted the idea of the so-called DSRB having dual headquarters in Canada and Europe. What ever the differences may be, both the DSRB and the MDM, along with any other “special purpose vehicles” the EU is organizing, all serve the same purpose of militarizing the European economy for war against Russia by the same methods employed by Hitler’s finance minister Hjalmar Schacht in the 1930’s.
