Europe’s war faction, centered in London, is not too happy that there are even the most modest signs of Washington leaning away from their forever war policy in Ukraine. UK Defense Secretary Wes Streeting was interviewed on BBC Sunday Oct. 11 where he was clear that the UK does not support Trump’s Russia diesel deal.
Streeting said the agreement had been done in the context of the midterm elections in November and the desire to ease the cost of living for voters, reported BBC. He argued that the US and other allies should instead focus on increasing pressure on Russia to shorten the war “and to secure Ukraine’s freedom.”
Streeting was also insistent that, in situations like this, “we see it as our role and our responsibility to try and bring our friends back together again.”
