The Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs held a press conference Oct. 16 announcing details of its upcoming 2026 Global Governance Forum in northern Hebei Province, in Xiong-an New Area. It was reported that more than 90 countries will be represented by over 180 overseas guests.
The Global Governance Initiative was announced a year ago at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting in Tianjin. In June a [white paper]( http://english.scio.gov.cn/whitepapers/2026-06/17/content_118552814.html) was issued about its goals.
