There have been various reports throughout October regarding the timing of a joint U.S.-Israel attack on Iran, where the prime concern is its effect upon election results. And the primary narrative is that Trump prefers an attack after the U.S. midterm elections while Netanyahu, in a desperate situation, may need one prior to the Oct. 27 Israeli elections. While there are other variations, the primary one has Trump telling Netanyahu to hold off.
The Times of Israel (TOI) report late last night, that Netanyahu had Israeli jets feign a full-scale jet attack on Iran, along with yesterday’s report by Axios’ Barak Ravid, has the overwhelming stench of Netanyahu trying to provoke a full-scale war one week prior to Israel’s election, while, once again, holding out a ‘fig leaf’ cover that he didn’t double-cross Trump.
Regardless, the report is that on Monday, while Netanyahu was meeting with U.S. ‘War’ Secretary Pete Hegseth at Israel’s Ovda Air Base, dozens of fighter jets, along with refueling aircraft, followed a flight path resembling an attack upon Iran, 800 miles away, intentionally coming onto Iran’s radar screens, and then turning away before entering Iran’s airspace. Iran did not engage with the incoming Israeli jets. TOI cited Israel’s Channel 12 along with U.S. officials, while Axios cited U.S. and Israeli officials.
