Italian industry minister Adolfo Urso confirmed reports that Chinese auto manufacturer BYD was looking for a turnkey plant in Italy in which to invest but found none. Stellantis, the only major volume car producer in Italy, has decided to produce in partnership rather than giving up a plant, Urso said, speaking before a Parliament committee. Earlier, it was reported that the BYD delegation had been shown a production site in Northern Italy, but when they entered the building, they found it empty because all the equipment had been removed.
