Below is the Solidarité et Progrès (S & P) flier that organizers are distributing to young people taking part in the protests in France. (The text is a machine translation into English.) Some 3,500 copies of the statement were distributed this past Tuesday and Thursday at the two major demonstrations, mostly to high school students, now joined by college students and older people as well. Most people took the flier and were happy to have it.

The S & P organizers reported: As we handed them out, we told people things like, “Young people around the world are watching you,” and “Thank you, young people!” Or, referring to the flier, “We are mobilizing against the reimbursing of the debt to the bankers.” Many responded: “Absolutely, you’re absolutely right.” We received many thanks when we gave them the flier. Lots of energy and enthusiasm!

The flier contains links to the S & P statement “Our Principles for a France that Speaks to the World,” and, “Our Plan to Free Ourselves from Financial Occupation,” which is the plan S & P Chairman Jacques Cheminade drafted during his run for the 2017 presidential election. It also includes links to two excellent videos on the debt bubble.

Our Future Is Your Future

October 5, 2026

The youth mobilization is facing provocations and repression we have not seen since the days of the Yellow Vest movement. Why? Because it transcends established frameworks and could inspire, potentially, the entire country. Beyond the traditional demands of unions or professional categories, to demand the right to a decent education is to fully demand a future for the country. A future and a country scorned by the ruling class, for whom power and money are the only virtues….

What do successive governments expect from young people? That they be clever monkeys, little soldiers. Why study, learn history, understand the world, when the only choices offered by this society are climate change, accepting predatory finance, and preparing for their war? And on top of that, are we supposed to thank the elites for the meager rations they give us in terms of food, housing, and learning conditions?

The refusal, the blockage, is not a desire to build nothing, quite the opposite. It is the financial oligarchy that prefers hunger, war, social division, and demographic decline to seeing a different policy take shape. The lack of resources for the national education system, like the lack of intellectual ambition in the curricula, does not constitute a failure. The survival of their system depends on producing lemmings and, above all, not on creating citizens who discover and think by themselves.

Through determined non-violence, one of the rallying cries must be to free our country from debt, the Damocles’ sword of the financial oligarchy, by re-nationalizing the Banque de France (Bank of France) and placing representatives of the people at its helm.

So you, young people, and this applies to 80-year-olds too, refuse to be deprived of a bright future. Discover the world, understand what it is made of, learn from all cultures, make yourselves heard, get involved!

Across the world, a movement is rising for the respect and development of all—with you.
