The European Union is demanding “clarification” from Algeria over the latter’s military deployment in Niger.

What is there to clarify? The deployment is based on an agreement between two sovereign nations whose aim is to cooperate in providing security against the rampant terrorism that has been plaguing Niger as well as Mali, Burkina Faso, and Chad, and now threatens Algeria.
