Tomorrow, November 3, will be the final day of the American midterm election season. One can no longer speak of “Election Day,” as voting has been extended over weeks in a manner that opens the process to greater vulnerability and manipulation.
That being said, whether or not the Democratic Party manages to secure a majority in both houses, which appears likely due to the disastrous insanity of the reigning Trump administration, it is unlikely that the trajectory toward nuclear war and economic collapse will be affected in any way, as most mainstream Democrats are still recipients of large sums from AIPAC-related superpacs, and are shrilly in support of arming Ukraine for their impossible dream of defeating Russia.
Nowhere is this uniparty commitment to insanity more clear than in the battleground state of Michigan, where the Democratic Congresswoman and former Senate candidate Haley Stevens, having been defeated in the primary by anti-genocide medical doctor Abdul El-Sayed, has now given her full-throated support to former Republican Congressman and Trump ally Mike Rogers, with whom she appeared on Sunday.
This is not to say that there is not a shift occurring in the United States, which has not fully ripened as of this midterm election season. But we cannot neglect to mention that AIPAC has become such a blight on the name of anyone running for office that it has stopped issuing public endorsements. Furthermore, it is likely that a handful of independent candidates for House and Senate may win their races, and other independents will end up receiving 20% of the vote or more. Independent candidates who oppose war and genocide, like Bronx Congressional candidate Jose Vega, who also supports LaRouche’s economic development perspective for world peace, can no longer be accused of being “fringe” candidates who merely disrupt the chances of Democrats or Republicans defeating the other.
Among the youth of the world, there is a powerful wind of change moving across the globe, as partly reported in the International Peace Coalition dialogue last Friday.
In France, Germany, Spain, and other nations, hundreds of thousands of young people are taking to the streets to demand a future free of war and corruption that gives every generation an equal chance to live in peace and economic security.
In Brazil, this movement successfully mobilized to stop Epstein-class thug Flavio Bolsonaro from becoming the next president, despite his lead in the first round. President Lula’s “army,” as they call themselves on social media, continues to mobilize, having gotten a taste of the power of their efforts, and their support will be needed for policy battles in the coming days.
It is not only the young who are moving, but also sage leaders of civilizational powers, like President Xi Jinping of China, who has just convened the first conference on China’s Global Governance initiative. One of the important guests at this conference was none other than Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-Larouche. The purpose of this initiative is not to establish a King Charles-style “Global Britain” order, but to strengthen the commitment to the UN Charter and basic principles of international law; principles that the current American president says are unnecessary for him, as he commits one arbitrary act of barbarism after the next.
The immediate weeks ahead require vigilance and action. Will the possibility of a Xi-Putin-Trump meeting at the upcoming APEC meeting prevent Trump from plunging ahead into a catastrophic escalation against Iran, or will Netanyahu persuade Trump to launch attacks on Iran with renewed vengeance after the election? The lame-duck Congress will try to pass the NDAA, including the treasonous US-Israel military and intelligence merger. Rep. Massie will also once again introduce articles of impeachment against Secretary Pete Hegseth. So don’t sit around waiting for the results to come in. Everything is up for grabs. Join the LaRouche Activists election eve Zoom meeting tonight at 8:00 pm EST.
