U.S. forces fired on a Panamanian-flagged ship that attempted to run the American blockade of Iranian ports early Aug. 11, a U.S. official told The Wall Street Journal yesterday, showing that the U.S. Naval blockade of Iran is still in full force. A U.S. military helicopter fired at the rudder of the ship in the Gulf of Oman after its crew ignored warnings from American personnel working to enforce the naval blockade of Iran’s ports, the official said.
The incident was subsequently confirmed by Centcom on X. “The ship is no longer transiting to Iran in violation of the U.S. blockade, which remains in full effect,” it said
