Italian economist Michele Geraci has become foreign policy spokesman of the newly formed “Indipendenza” political movement in Italy. Geraci specified that he accepted the job not as a party member but as an independent.
As his first initiative, he has organized an event in Rome on Jan. 18 on “Belt and Road and BRICS, Growth Opportunity for the Italian Economy in the New Multipolar World.” Geraci’s view is that the Italian government decision to exit the Belt and Road was insane, a view shared by Indipendenza leader, former Agriculture Minister Gianni Alemanno.
