Rubio To Attend CARICOM Conference, Pushing the 'Donroe Doctrine'

The U.S. State Department announced on Feb. 23 that Secretary of State Narco Rubio will travel to Saint Kitts and Nevis this week to take part on Feb. 25 in the 50th CARICOM (Caribbean Community and Common Market) Conference of Heads of State which takes place over Feb. 24-27. Rubio can be expected to demand adherence to what U.S. President Donald Trump calls the “Donroe Doctrine”—meaning his own corollary to the Monroe Doctrine (1823), which he misinterprets as dominating the Western Hemisphere, all to the benefit of the United States. Donroe in action includes invading Venezuela and kidnapping the leader, bombing boats in the Caribbean and Pacific, and other unilateral actions. The original Monroe Doctrine was initiated to deter colonialist activity in the Western Hemisphere by the European powers, which now is being done by the United States.

Today’s State Department notice says, “During his visit, the Secretary will reaffirm the United States’ commitment to working with CARICOM member states to enhance stability and prosperity in our hemisphere.” Many leaders from the hemisphere are invited to Florida on March 7 for a meeting with President Trump.
