Former UK Ambassador Murray Asks: Will Trump Do To Iran What Israel Did To Gaza?

Former UK Ambassador Craig Murray poses an important and terrifying question in a new article posted to his Substack, titled “Joy at Death and Destruction.” In it, he points to the maniacal and thug-like outlook shown by members of the Trump administration, who, despite being confronted with enormous failure in their war planning in Iran, may choose to go all the way to a full scorched earth policy to accomplish their aims.

“Iran is showing commendable fighting spirit,” Murray begins. But, “American military power should not be underestimated. They have the ability to destroy Iran from the air, to obliterate the institutions of the state and all of the key civilian infrastructure. Electricity, water, healthcare, education, administration, policing all can be knocked out just as they were systematically in Gaza.”

He cites the Iranian Red Crescent’s recent report, which found the U.S.-Israeli strikes have already destroyed 5,535 civilian residential units, 65 schools, and 14 hospitals or medical centers. Not mentioned but relevant in this regard is the catastrophic pollution following US and Israeli strikes on Iranian oil depots, resulting in what some have called chemical warfare.
