Alert: Retired General Talks About `Civil-Military' and `Elections' on Election Eve

The “Harvard Defense Project Series” holds an event at Noon EST on Monday, Election Eve, “Civil-Military Relations during a U.S. Election.” The speaker is Maj.. Gen. Bill Rapp (ret.), Lecturer, Harvard Kennedy School. And his topic: “The atmosphere around the national elections to be held on Tuesday, 3 November, have brought to the fore many important issues of how the U.S. military interacts and is viewed by the public and the civilian leadership in government. This seminar will cover many of those issues, shed some light on the tensions inherent in the American norms of civil-military relations, and provide a venue for open dialogue about these topics.”
