Austria Will Follow Slovak Mass-testing Model

Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, who at the end of last week decreed a strict lockdown for the whole country, also announced that he will go for mass-testing of “as many Austrians as possible by Christmas.” He said the mass testing approach has been taken by Slovakia, and “it has worked well there.” A delegation of Austrian government officials had met with their counterparts in the Slovak government Nov. 12, getting briefed on the Slovak testing program. Details of the Austrian plans will be made public in the course of this week.
