Egypt Begins Vaccinations with Chinese Vaccine

According to Arab News, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi announced on Saturday Jan. 23 his administration’s plan to launch its vaccination campaign the next day. The program will start with health professionals, using vaccines developed by China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm) and delivered in December. Egypt will get 40 million doses via the GAVI vaccine alliance, which will cover 20% of Egypt’s 100 million people.
