Hospitalizations Plummet for Vaccinated Elderly in Israel, Three Weeks After Vaccinations Began

The Times of Israel reports that analysis performed by Maccabi Healthcare Services reveals a 60% decline in COVID cases among vaccinated populations within three weeks of receiving the first shot. And a newer study monitoring over 50,000 people revealed that by Day 23 (two days after the second shot), there was a 60% drop in hospitalizations among vaccinated people aged 60-plus. Although 50,000 is a large number of people, the number of infections was not particularly high, and the specific percentage cannot be relied upon, although the general findings that significant protection begins to appear after two weeks.
