The Schedule of Vaccine Production for the U.S.

Both Pfizer and Moderna are reported to be on schedule for their contracted delivery to the U.S. government of 200 million doses apiece by July, and 100 million doses apiece by March 31.This is welcome news, especially as Moderna is a new company with no history of production. Further, Moderna’s plan to produce 500 million doses overall for 2021 has now been upped to a 600 million estimate, with possibilities of up to 1 billion. That means that, aside from fulfilling their American contract, there will be 400-800 million more doses available for the rest of the world.
