German Health Minister Jens Spahn told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung on today: “Regardless of the country in which a vaccine is manufactured, if they are safe and effective, they can help cope with the pandemic.” Previously, the EU had been resistant to vaccines from Russia or China, a position that softened in the last couple of weeks. The official Twitter account for the Sputnik V vaccine explained that the Russian Direct Investment Fund was able to provide the EU with 100 million doses in the second quarter.
