More European countries are showing serious interest in Russia’s Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine. Italian Health Minister Roberto Speranza has called on the European Medicines Agency to accelerate the evaluation of Sputnik V, according to Italy’s ANSA news agency on Feb. 3. “We shouldn’t be apprehensive about vaccines from different countries; it is important that they receive the EMA’s approval. We asked the EU to accelerate the scientific evaluation of both the Russian vaccine and vaccines from other countries,” he said.
