With the Biden Administration in the White House now, a new wave of NATO propaganda against China and Russia can be observed. The latest case is a piece in Defense News, a U.S.-based international website, which criticizes the Europeans for having a “too narrow” view of China and Russia, missing the strategic shifts which the journal says are underway.
The growing Sino-Russian defense relationship implies further difficulties for the alliance, and although a formal Sino-Russian defense alliance may not be in the cards for now, the two nations are “toying with the idea,” the journal warns. Apart from multiple joint military exercises and intensified defense-industrial cooperation, Chinese digital capabilities will enhance Russia’s ability to produce military platforms and provide both nations with better weapons systems to confront America’s allies. And having strong Chinese support, Russia may become “more assertive in its military activities in Europe,” the journal claims.
