A Dutch court on Wednesday ordered Royal Dutch Shell (RDS) to drastically deepen its already deep planned greenhouse gas emission cuts, in a landmark ruling that could trigger legal action against energy companies around the world. The ruling came in a case filed by 17,000 citizens of the Netherlands with the court, in what green propaganda termed “the people against Shell.” Shell said it was “disappointed” and plans to appeal the ruling.
