El Salvador Will Share Its Covid-19 Vaccines With Honduran Mayors

Seven mayors from Honduras sent a joint video message to Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele two days ago, in which, one by one, they implored Bukele to “help us with vaccines. Our people are dying of COVID-19, and our government does not respond,” as one put it. Another urged: “Help us, President. God will greatly bless you.”

President Bukele responded quickly: “Tell them that El Salvador’s Health Minister will receive them this Tuesday, at 2 pm. Our country will help you with anti-COVID-19 vaccines, to vaccinate the people most at risk in your municipalities…. The scheduled shipments of vaccines that we will receive give us a sufficient margin to donate some.”
