Amazon Comes Out for Legal Dope, on the Job and Off

Amazon wants their workers to be happy, so while their boss Jeff Bezos goes into orbit his way, his workers will have a chance to go into their own orbits, provided they can continue to meet very high warehouse distribution quotas. Amazon “will no longer include marijuana in our comprehensive drug screening program” the company said in a June 1 release, so unless you drive for them, or screw up on the job, feel free to light up whenever you like.

In addition, the country’s largest retailer has decided to throw its weight behind the MORE Act, a bill before Congress which would (among other things) throw open the doors of the U.S. banking industry to Dope, Inc. cash, turning the national banking system into a giant drug money laundromat. “And because we know that this issue [drug legalization] is bigger than Amazon, our public policy team will be actively supporting The Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act of 2021 [MORE Act, introduced by Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), now with 52 co-sponsors]—federal legislation that would legalize marijuana at the federal level, expunge criminal records, and invest in impacted communities. We hope that other employers will join us, and that policymakers will act swiftly to pass this law.”
