The German Greens are now beginning to campaign for the creation of a new super ministry with excessive powers to interfere with all budget issues in the government. The ministry shall have the right to veto any expense planned by the government that is not in line with the target of reaching “climate neutrality” by 2050 at the latest. This implies that all government ministries have to document that their plans are in line with the climate protection targets. Helga Zepp-LaRouche on Wednesday compared this cross-government “veto” demanded by the Greens to a Notverordnung or emergency law as enacted to give Hitler’s government special powers for “emergency rule” in 1933.
