Oregon Gov. Kate Brown on July 14 signed into law a piece of drivel which eliminates the requirement that all students be proficient in reading, writing and math in order to graduate from high school. The rationale given for this obscenity is that it will aid “students of color,” who otherwise may not have access to the same learning opportunities or support as other students, RT explained. The racist message here is that “children of color” can’t learn, so better to just respect their “differences,” and dumb down education for others as well. Brown has refused to discuss this bill publicly since she signed it into law—done very quietly, without the usual press release or entering it into the legislative database in a timely fashion.
