U.S. to Send Troops To Start Evacuation of U.S. Kabul Embassy

State Department spokesman Ned Price said during his regular briefing today that the U.S. will temporarily send troops to Afghanistan in order to help with evacuation of some personnel from the U.S. embassy in Kabul. The announcement comes as the deterioration of the military situation in the country accelerates. The number is a force of 3,000, cited in early media accounts.
