Moscow Describes NATO Is Narrowing Options for Dialogue

Moscow sees the recent expulsion of eight diplomats from the Russian mission to NATO as an indication that no cooperation with the Alliance is possible. “NATO is not an instrument of cooperation, not an instrument for interaction; it is a bloc that overall is anti-Russian in nature,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov said yesterday, reported RT. “This is how we see it, and this perception is clearly evidenced by this bloc’s actions.”

Peskov also described the contradiction between NATO’s statements on the need for dialogue with Russia and its actions. “These actions, of course, do not allow us to pretend there is a possibility of normalizing relations and resuming dialogue with NATO. Instead, these prospects are undermined almost completely.”
