Wendy Sherman, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, went to Islamabad and met today with Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, and with the army chief, Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa. Afghanistan faces a full economic meltdown, she was informed. The talks were described as difficult, but details are yet to come.
