Five EU Governments Oppose French Pro-Nuclear Initiative

At a joint press conference on the sidelines of the COP26 in Glasgow yesterday, the environment ministers of Austria, Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Portugal declared that they do not support the French initiative to identify nuclear power as “green” on the coming EU list of acceptable energy sources. They claim that nuclear power is not free of emissions, that building new power plants was too expensive and would take too long, that nuclear power is unsafe and a technology of the past (sic!).
