Worldwide, new official daily cases are on the rise, with more than a 14% increase over the last two weeks, from 435,000 to 497,000 — mainly from northern Europe. Germany, Austria, Poland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Slovenia have all had cases more than double in the last two weeks. Russia’s recent 10-day work-stoppage apparently has had a modest effect, as cases peaked at around 40,000/day on November 6, and have finally begun a modest turnaround, down to 38,000. (All figures here are 7-day averages.)
