Four tankers carrying approximately 2 million barrels of Russian diesel are due to arrive shortly in New Haven, Connecticut and New York City, as reported by the Vortexa, an energy cargo-tracking agency. As covered by Bloomberg on Nov. 18, Russian producers have been ramping up production of a diesel that is dependent on a feedstock extracted from costly natural gas. Bloomberg quotes Clay Seigle, managing director for Vortexa in Houston: “It’s very rare we’d see volumes this large coming to the East Coast.”
