Wang Yi spoke with Antony Blinken today in preparation for the virtual Summit between Presidents Joe Biden and Xi Jinping on Nov. 15, Monday night U.S. time (Tuesday morning in China). Press reports say that Wang Yi warned Blinken not to “send the wrong signals” to the Taiwan independence forces. “The two sides should meet each other halfway to ensure a smooth and successful meeting, to bring China-U.S. relations back on track and aim for sound and stable development,” Wang said, as reported in Global Times.
