Counterpunch magazine provided a quick overview of the 4th wave of COVID-19 assaulting Europe. Highlights include Germany’s disaster, where official cases are up 58% over the last two weeks, with 58,000 new cases/day over the week from November 22-28. Deaths are also up by 59%.

The ICUs have ten unvaccinated patients for every vaccinated one, despite there being over two vaccinated for every one unvaccinated person in the country. This works out to a 20x increase in per capita ICU admissions for unvaccinated people.

The United Kingdom’s new cases were up 20% last week over the previous week. The Netherlands, having gone from 13,800/day to 22,000/day, has entered a three-week partial lockdown, as of November 28. Their hospitals are at full capacity, and some hospitals have stopped both chemotherapy and organ transplants.
