On Wednesday, January 19, Russia’s ambassador to Kazakhstan announced that the CSTO peacekeeping operation in Kazakhstan had been completed, and that all CSTO troops — from Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan — had departed the country. So much for Secretary of State Tony Blinken’s January 7 claim that “once Russians are in your house, it’s sometimes very difficult to get them to leave"!
