At approximately 1 PM EST, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian forces had hit 83 military infrastructure facilities of the Ukrainian armed forces. Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov added that the Russian military has successfully completed all goals for today. “Groups of troops of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics broke through the well-equipped layered defense of the armed forces of Ukraine and advanced 6-8 kilometers in-depth,” Konashenkov said, reported Sputnik International.
In addition, the spokesman said that Russian troops have restored the water supply to Crimea. “The joint use of raid detachments and airborne troops in the Crimean direction ensured the advance of Russian troops to the city of Kherson. This made it possible to unblock the North Crimean Canal and restore the water supply to the Crimean peninsula,” Konashenkov said. The Kiev regime had cut off the water in 2014, when Crimea returned to Russia.
In his third of three updates for the day, Konashenkov reported, “All the tasks assigned to the groups of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for the day were successfully completed.” He added that two Su-27s, two Su-24s, one helicopter and four Bayraktar TB-2 unmanned attack aerial vehicles of the armed forces of Ukraine had been shot down. The Russians have reported the loss of a single Su-25 ground-attack jet due to pilot error. The Ukrainians also posted video of a downed Ka-52 attack helicopter, reporting that the pilot had been taken prisoner. The Kiev regime has claimed up to hundreds of Russian troops killed, but the claims remain unconfirmed.
Earlier, Sputnik cited the Defense Ministry reporting that among the targets destroyed were 11 airfields, three command centers, a Ukrainian Navy post, 18 S-300 radars, and Buk air defense systems of the Ukrainian military.
