Trucker ‘People’s Convoys’ on Washington Set for March, with Steve Bannon along for the Ride

A week-long, multi-route set of convoys of truckers will be crossing the country during the coming weeks, set to converge on Washington, D.C. on Sunday, March 6, according to various media and online reports. Beginning on Feb. 23, the first of as many as five convoys will leave Barstow, CA, and travel across the country to the nation’s capital. Other convoys are set to start at various times from Washington state, North Dakota, Ohio and the New England states. Over 1,000 vehicles (some say millions) are already committed to join, according to a Feb. 16 article in Newsweek (So far, there have been no announced plans for a route from Ottawa, but new routes are being added daily.)

This “People’s Convoy” of truckers and others, including anti-vax-mandate protestors is sponsored by the Great American Patriot Project, whose very uninformative website dates from Jan. 26, 2021 (sic). On Feb. 16, 2022, GAPP established a separate Truckers Freedom Fund, this time on a private platform, thus hoping to avoid the fate of the Canadian protest, whose GoFundMe site was hacked and funds seized. As for the “allegiance” of the Patriots, protest organizer Brian Brase said in a Facebook video Feb. 15 that they moved up the launch date because “Canada needs our help and we’re standing with Canada.”
