British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has apparently embarrassed herself in Moscow with her lack of knowledge of Russian geography in talks today with her Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov. After Truss’s statements demanding that Moscow move its forces, located on Russia’s soil, away from the border with Ukraine, Lavrov asked her if she recognized Russia’s sovereignty over the Voronezh and Rostov Regions. Truss insisted that the UK would never recognize Russia’s sovereignty over these regions, a source close to the talks told TASS.
