This week the Schiller Institute’s two Conferences, “U.S.and European Military and Security Experts Warn: The Insanity of Politicians Threatens Nuclear War “ and “We Need a New Security and Development Architecture for All Nations, Not a Strengthening of Geopolitical Blocs” have prepared the ground for the next three weeks’ organizing effort to build a massive international Schiller Institute meeting for June 18-19, with participation from as many nations as possible. Sections of both conferences have been viewed by the thousands and even tens of thousands already. This means that those individuals who have just participated in these dialogues, can now use these two successful gatherings as an intellectual platform from which to factionalize for sanity, and against the escalation of war. It’s time, and past time, for “truth to knock out the brains of falsehood,” by challenging the depraved indifference and the prevailing false axioms that, left unchallenged, will doom the human race in the short term.
From Ukraine to Uvalde, there’s no hiding place from the moral and material consequences of the Anglo-American pursuit of “the rule of lawlessness.” Instead there must be a reassertion of natural law, and its derivative, constitutional law. Vladimir Putin refers to the Anglosphere’s “auto-da-fé.” “Gaffe governments,” always ready with bombastic pronunciamentos and rife with “new” policy schemes each more absurd than the last, make one “dead-on-arrival"’ proposal after another, on “clean energy policy,” “reversing inflation,” “addressing famine,” or not addressing pandemics. In all cases, either Russia or China, Putin or Xi Jinping, are to blame. It verges on the burlesque, as with Boris Johnson’s latest “Monty Python” proposal to revive the old Polish-Lithuanian Empire in the form of a Poland/Ukraine/Estonia/Latvia/Lithuania/Britain smash-up that would “supersede the EU.” Asked to join this still-birth, even Zelenskyy, who is capable of saying anything, had no words he wished to be overheard speaking.
In the real world, the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Zhang Ming, speaking at the Eurasian Economic Forum meeting on May 26, said, “the population of the SCO is over 3 billion people, this is half the population of the Earth… Using our resources, we should cooperate with the world…Changes in the world are of a colossal nature, but they also provide new opportunities for development. As important participants in the global process, the Eurasian Economic Union and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization should unite.” Viewed from the standpoint of the February 4 “Joint Statement of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China on the International Relations Entering a New Era,” [http://en.kremlin.ru/supplement/5770] this statement indicates that the evolving relationship, beginning with Russia and China, but extending to well over half the population of the world, and many of the world’s nations, is of a type that is not comprehended by the feeble minds of the Anglosphere.
The Russia-China relationship, its nature and origin, a proposal “for the common aims of mankind” which the United States should have not only joined but, based on the life’s work of Lyndon LaRouche, should have co-initiated, is understandable only from the higher, “complex domain” of statecraft—not politics, and emphatically not geopolitics. That idea of “international relations governing a new era” is informed not only by the “Spirit of Bandung,” that is, the Bandung Conference of April 1955, but also by that of the American Revolution, as LaRouche and his associates understood that actual American Revolution. Diplomat and American Revolutionary figure John Quincy Adams would have understood the nature of the relationship immediately.
Those in our branches of government, in corporate life, the military and elsewhere who demand that their failed axioms and methods of practice be respected, abided and continued, even in the face of their persistent failure to resolve the impending, unfolding, and soon cascading conjunctural crises now and soon to befall us, are self-limited incompetents. They cannot even understand “why America has been producing psychotic child serial killers” for the past 23 years” Oedipus-like, they refuse to realize that the policies that they have pronounced for the world, at State, the Pentagon, and various think tanks and universities, are also the policies they will themselves undergo, in one form or another. A nation cannot practice the insanity of striving to fight and win a thermonuclear war without that insanity affecting, and infecting its population, acknowledged or not.
Willful blindness? Uvalde, according to the Daily Mail report, was using “Artificial Intelligence” to monitor students for at least months before the attack. Not covered by the Mail, however, is the fact that four years earlier, a 13- and 14-year-old who were obsessed with the 1999 Columbine killers, had been arrested for plotting a mass shooting that they had intended to carry out—in 2022. In the latest case, “Texas school officials had been monitoring students’ social media prior to the deadly shooting in Uvalde Tuesday—but failed to pick up on posts from the gunman. Students and parents also failed to spot the post from the troubled student, who was described as a bullied loner who slowly dropped out of school due to teasing about his lisp, habit of wearing eyeliner, clothes and his family’s poverty…. Santos Valdez told the Washington Post that he used to be friends with [shooter Salvador] Ramos and played online shooter games such as Fortnite and Call of Duty with him, until the pair stopped talking as Ramos’s behavior ‘deteriorated….” The reality of what the United States does, rather than what the United States says, is most reflected in how it treats its most vulnerable and impressionable—its youth. In the United States, just under 1,000 children are murdered each year. “As a man thinks, so is he.” The evil that is practiced in killing and murder in far-away lands, is the evil that is also found in the American household. If nothing is changed, America will be eaten by its own children.
Lyndon LaRouche, in his 1977 “NATO In Caesar’s Foolish Footsteps,” described the terminal mental disease that now renders everything the “Anglosphere” now attempts, to result in unanticipated, self-inflicted failure: “The anti-humanist or bestialist outlook is properly called bestialist because, like Thomas Hobbes of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, it denies any qualitative distinction between man and the lower beasts. It denies any fundamental importance for scientific knowledge—and, most frequently, has stated that qualitative advances in scientific knowledge have been virtually exhausted, as Bertrand Russell and John Dewey insisted during the 1920s, as the rabid nominalists insisted earlier during the 13th and 14th centuries, and as the evil Al-Ghazali professed, to the consequent ruin of Baghdad and Cairo during the 11th century. Denying the essential importance of technological progress, bestialism, as did Al-Ghazali or Bertrand Russell, repudiates that which uniquely distinguishes man from the lower beasts, man’s mental-creative powers for progress in self-perfection of knowledge of the lawful ordering of the universe. Thus denying the positive role of science for progress, the bestialist denies the positive value which a single individual properly has for his or her entire society—the fact that a single creative mind, variously by discovering or transmitting advances in scientific knowledge for social practice, makes a universal practical contribution of permanent value to society as a whole.” The role of engaging single creative minds in the task of erecting a new security and development architecture, free of the predatory culture that is the internal life of the policymaking “elite” of the Anglosphere, requires our unique epistemological intervention to recruit youth as well as others, tasked with creating a new world, free from the imperial folly of perpetual and total war, through an international “revolution of the spirit” worthy of the vision by means of which Cardinal Nicholas of Cusa, in 1439 Florence, and in the shadow of Brunelleschi’s Duomo, accomplished then, what we are required to accomplish now.
