The shortage of baby formula in the United States has been widely publicized, along with emergency airlifts that have been initiated to ameliorate the situation. Less well known is the fact that other serious shortages are appearing in simple medical necessities as well.

IV Drip Bags: These are nearly universally used for patients admitted to hospitals, to both keep them hydrated, as well as to easily administer many medications. These are self-contained units delivered as a full bag, tubing, and necessary clips to control the flow. Now, hospitals are running out of IV drip. Over the last several weeks, hydration has been denied to patients not near death.
