During his trip to Egypt, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Russia welcomes Egypt’s interest in becoming a dialogue partner in the SCO. And the Belarusian Ambassador to China has expressed that nation’s desire to join the SCO.
In his press conference on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said that “China supports Egypt’s active participation in SCO cooperation” and “China supports Belarus’s application for SCO membership.”
