Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been compelled to call Amnesty International “terrorists” after the organization issued a report documenting the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ consistent use of civilian areas, schools, and even hospitals as locations for its military units and heavy armaments. Amnesty International (AI) clearly identified these actions as war crimes; it has also charged Russian forces with committing war crimes in the conflict.
RT reported that in a video statement evidently made late on Thursday, Aug. 4, Zelenskyy said, “Today we saw a report by Amnesty International, which unfortunately tries to amnesty the terrorist state and shift responsibility from the aggressor to the victim. If someone makes a report that puts the aggressor and the victim on the same level, this cannot be tolerated.” According to RT, Zelenskyy repeated three times that “Ukraine is a victim,” and said, “Anyone who doubts this is an accomplice of Russia—a terrorist country—and a terrorist themselves, and a participant in the killings.”
