German Farmers Staged Huge Tractorcade, Rally in Bonn Aug. 15 Against Green Mandates

On Monday, a huge convoy, with some 400 tractors, rolled into Bonn, and surrounded the Federal Ministry of Agriculture there. The farmers were protesting the EU climate policy, which is dictating measures that will shut down farms, and cut food production. They demonstrated in solidarity with the Dutch farmers protesting shutdown policies from their government. A rally of hundreds of people took place outside the Ministry.

There were many signs. One said simply, “We Are Here Again.” Another, “No Farmers, No Food, No Future.” Also, “Green Ideology Has Brought Farmers to Their Knees.”

A focus is on the European Commission order to sharply reduce chemical pesticides by 2030. One sign stated, “Ban on Plant Protection Will Endanger Food Security.”

German farmers are planning a national rally Aug. 26 in Berlin, called a “365” day demonstration, to not stop until the green mandates are rolled back.
