Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD), operating out of President Zelenskyy’s National Security and Defense Council, is being handed international platforms to promote its campaign for laws to be passed outlawing dissident views as “information terrorism” and “war crimes.” Just as EIR charged, NATO is first and foremost in this effort. Now the CIA has surfaced as part of the CCD operation, according to the CCD itself.
The CCD reported today that representatives of the Center for Combating Disinformation, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security of Ukraine’s Ministry of Culture and Information Policy “made a joint appearance” at NATO’s 2022 Communicator’s Conference. The conference was held in Skopje, the capital of NATO’s newest member, North Macedonia, from Sept. 5-8. NATO reports that over 300 participants from NATO members and partners (Ukraine is a partner) “discuss[ed] and exchange[d] ideas on deterrence strategy, the Russia-Ukraine war, partnerships, NATO’s New Strategic Concept, effects and targeting, innovation, information assessment, digital, and more.” In the opening session, Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, Gen. Philippe Lavigne, emphasized that NATO has to be “resilient” to counter “information … used to destabilize nations, especially democracies and peoples’ minds.”
