U.S. Will Request an Emergency UNGA Session over Regions Joining Russia

U.S. Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield said, “We will request an emergency session of the General Assembly” at her press conference Sept. 30 after the UN Security Council session, at which the U.S. resolution was defeated that condemned Russia for its action on the four referenda in regions who seek to on join Russia. The U.S. will take the defeated resolution to the General Assembly, where, she said, “every country has a vote.”
